HOW TO GO ABOUT YOUR UNDERGRADUATE ONLINE EXAM

HOW TO GO ABOUT YOUR UNDERGRADUATE ONLINE EXAM

Using the online system for administering exam seems quite strange right? There have been a lot of complaints from students as regards the online exam,  well that's quite understandable but the fact remains an online exam is unavoidable due to the current pandemic. All you can do now is prepare well for the exam by reading and getting the requisite materials such as a laptop with a good battery, a noiseless and serene environment, swift Internet speed with enough data subscription.
Having said all these, let's talk about the exam site The school will be using for the exam. I am certainly sure you don't know quite much about it; AI PROCTOR

AI Proctor is a Proctoring System Powered by Artificial Intelligence. It was specifically for administering online tests and exams with a plethora of real time monitoring techniques to ensure the students are not engaging in malpractices. Let's talk about the techniques adopted by the AI Proctor site 😀

Real-Time Monitoring

During the exam, the instructor will be notified, in real time, with any suspicious activity by the exam takers.
The instructor can chat in real time with the student. He can also remove the student permanently from the exam using the real time monitoring dashboard.

Browser’s monitoring

If the student opened any websites other than the exam’s website even in a new window or a new tab, the AI Proctor will notify the instructor in real-time with a screenshot of the student activity, and the website she is trying to access. When the exam ends, the instructor will receive a full detailed report with all opened websites, and when they were opened. A short video for the every cheating activity will be sent to the instructor along with the report.

An unauthorized program

If the exam taker opens or switches to an already opened program (like a pdf reader), the instructor will be notified immediately with a screen-shot of the opened program. The instructor will also receive a full report with the cheating activities and a short video for each of them.

If the Internet is disconnected at a certain student's place, the system caches all cheating events and sends them to the instructor once the connection is restored. Cheating events are encrypted and stored until the Internet is retrieved. Advanced techniques are used to verify no fraud activities are done by offline students. If a student suffers from power outage, the AI-Proctor will send the reports once the computer is opened again.

Human speech detection

The AI-Proctor continuously checks the microphone to make sure the examination place has no one speaking. It will not be confused with other sounds like music or fan sound!

The AI Proctor opens the exam only after facial verification.

The instructor can see a list of the online students, and the offlines students. She/He can click on the name of any online student and can stream his screen and camera. This gives an unprecedented feeling of control of the proctoring process.

Let's talk about the Dos and Donts of the exam based on the Post-Utme and Postgraduate exams

The exam is monitored by an AI proctor Assistant as well as an administrator that's why your webcam is to be functioning well

You're not required to open tab alongside the Exam tab on your browser and Google Chrome is strongly recommended

The room is to be properly lightened up so your face can be visible to the cam

You're not to reply the comments or instructions that pops on your screen, just cancel or you'll would be disconnected abruptly

The time count for the exam isn't hinged on your network time, make provision for a strong Internet connection most preferably mtn or any of the mifi networks.

Please ensure you load your device with enough data especially when you're not sure of the laptop you're using.

Nobody is allowed to be around you during the exam

Writing your exam in a Cafe is highly discouraged

If by any means your device goes off during the exam, they'll be alerted and then can watch the video of what went on your laptop during the exam period, you can quickly use your phone to finish up because the Time count won't cease.

You're also advised to increase the volume of your laptop as the examiners can talk to you through that means

If there's any issue in which you were disconnected from the exam site, quickly take a screenshot on your device(Press the Windows key and Print Screen at the same time to capture the entire screen. Your screen will dim for a moment to indicate a successful snapshot)
